galumay:
Meantime, an icon of American sport died this week, the legendary baseball coach, Yogi Berra. He was, kind of, Jack Gibson meets Dennis Commetti, and known for his extraordinary, and oft self-contradictory quotes. His most famous was "It's like deja-vu all over again", but there were many others, as gloried in by the American press this week: "It ain't the heat; it's the humility"; "He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious"; "The future ain't what it used to be"; "When you come to a fork in the road, take it"; "Baseball is 90% mental – the other half is physical"; "Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours". You get the drift!
