Guide to Brokers Commentary

'BUY" - Hopefully you wont lose too much money if you buy.
’A GOOD BUY*- Would we ever recommend a bad buy?
'GOOD BUYING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOPHISTICATED INVESTORS* = the share price
will go up and then plummet -when it will plummet.we don't know,so you'll have to be smart to
get out at the right time.
"LOOK TO BUY"- the shares are going to fall. Hopefully, when they start to fall you’ll buy
some and help keep the price up.
"BUY FOR RECOVERY”- we tipped the shares earlier, but they went down. Hopefully, the
shares will now recover if we can encourage more people to buy them.
"HOLD"- we think the shares might go down.but we don't want to say "sell" as we are Brokers
to the company concerned and they wont be very pleased if we said "sell".
"WEAK HOLD*- we think the shares are likely to go down, but we don't want to say "sell" in
case we are wrong.
"INVESTORS WHO BOUGHT AT EARLIER PRICES SHOULD CONSIDER AVERAGING
DOWN"- investors who bought at ridiculously inflated prices at which we earlier recommended
the shares, and who are showing big losses as a result of the price collapse, should buy more
of the shares at the current low prices. We hope that this extra buying will make the share
price perk up a bit so that your overall loss wont took quite so bad.
"LOOK TO SELL*- the shares are going up and you should sell them when they've gone up a
bit. We may then decide to take the shares on our books and try to interest one of our major
clients in making a take-over bid for the company at a very good price.
"BID RUMOURS ARE IN THE PRICE FOR NOTHING"- there may or may not be a takeover
bid. If there aren't any bid rumours apart from me saying "bid rumours are in the price for nothing*
and thus starting a bid rumour in the hope that people will view the company as a take over
target and push up the share price.
"FOR THOSE WHO LIKE A SPECULATIVE SHARE*- for those who don't mind losing their
money.
"FUNDAMENTALLY CHEAP"- the shares seem cheap, but who believes the fundamentals?
"DESPITE THEIR RECENT SHARP RISE"- we didn't predict their sharp rise.
"THE SHARES ARE OVER VALUED"- we did not recommend them to our clients and the
shares went up so fast our clients complained. We weren't at fault ( we never are) - other
people just keep buying the shares for the wrong reasons. Hopefully,if we say the shares are
over -valued, the share price will go down and our clients will stop moaning.
"THE SHARES ARE UNDER VALUED"- why doesn't anyone want to buy the shares? We
bought some for our discretionary clients at even higher prices and they are now showing a
loss-why wont the share price go up?
"WE ARE REDUCING OUR FORECAST OF PROFITS*- our earlier forecast was wrong.
"THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS EXCELLENT*- that’s what their financial PR firm keep
saying/the management have just given us a good lunch.
"HIGHLY RATED TEAM"- overpaid team.
"WE HAVE RECENTLY VISITED THE COMPANY AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE
SHARES*- we were given an excellent tour, all the skeletons were locked in the cupboards,
and we had lots of fine wine and good food.
"THE COMPANY HAS AMBITIOUS PLANS IN THE STATES"- the company paid for our
recent first class trip to the States where we spent two days looking at their operations in US
and the rest of the week was spent wining, dining & lounging by the pool. having a massage,
looking up old friends, etc.
"THE COMPANY’S NEW DRUG IS TO UNDERGOING TRIALS*- they've developed a new drug
that might have bad side affects, or it may be a miracle cure. Toss a coin to decide whether or
not to buy shares in the company.
THE COMPANY IS SOON TO START DRILLING/MINING IN...." = the company hasn't
started drilling /mining in that area yet and may not And anything. Toss a coin...
"SENTIMENT IS MIXED"- no one knows what is happening
